Metric are partnered with a consultancy firm to find an experienced Project Engineer for a project with a government agency. In this role, you'll leverage your expertise in project management to support and coordinate construction efforts, ensuring process adherence to contract standards and stakeholder expectations. This position requires exceptional communication skills, a strong sense of collaboration, and the ability to work independently with transparency as required by the client and project scope.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate construction work to ensure alignment with contract documents and standards.
- Support site office management and coordinate site meetings, paperwork, and processing of payment requests.
- Collaborate with facility operations, other stakeholders, and prioritize safety and quality assurance on-site.
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including: MS Word, MS Excel (including Tables, Pivot Tables, Graphics), MS Access (Ad hoc reporting); Power BI, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, and SharePoint administration.
- Strong data handling abilities, particularly with graphic interfaces and database sources.
- Familiarity with data structures and principles of graphical communication.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of relevant experience in project engineering or construction management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, or related field.
- Proven project management skills with the ability to handle complex projects and identify solutions.
- Skilled in reading and understanding legal documents, regulations, and contracts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong numeracy abilities.
- Commitment to continuous learning, especially with new technologies and tools.
- High discretion and confidentiality in all aspects of work.
